FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Richmond: The Capital City of Blogging
Richmond is known for its history, culture, and location. Not only is the city surrounded by a beautiful river, but it is also the home to thousands of VCU students. Although this city has a lot to offer, blogging is one of the newest additions.
With the help of sites like RVABlogs, the activity of blogging has dramatically grown. This website shows the latest updates of the blogs of those registered. The subjects covered vary from local politics to restaurant reviews. People are constantly updating there blogs with information about recent activities, events, etc. With over 489 blogs on the RVABlogs website alone, it is easy to see that people in Richmond are blogging.
Many students at VCU are also joining the blog trend, but often not by choice. Thousands of students have created blogs as a class assignment. The students are not only learning how to be tech savvy, but blogging also refreshes there minds about grammar and spelling. Marie Matsucheski, a senior in the advertising field says that “blogs are an exciting new way to do homework. The assignments are always open ended and are a great way to express oneself. They also help us save paper!”
My blog was also created as an assignment for a public relations class. My blog covers information regaurding the mass communications field. I never thought I would join the blogging community, but as it takes over Richmond, it is hard to resist.
